From a report by Quicken Loans, “Generally, the best time to buy a house often ends up being in the late summer and early fall. That’s because, around the end of summer, there tends to be less competition than at the peak during the spring and early summer, but still a fair number of houses on the market. In the late fall and early winter, there are fewer homes on the market, but buyers often have more negotiating power, since there’s less competition.”
But the experts at Forbes Advisor, advise against postponing a home purchase until 2025 and the explanation can be profitable, so if you are ready to buy or sell, now is a good time.
They go onto report, “Competition for homes is a lot less frenzied than it has been—buyers today have more time to review their options, more leverage in negotiations and sellers are cutting prices at record-setting levels,” Divounguy says. “I think waiting for lower rates would be a mistake.” – Scott Bridges, senior managing director at Pennymac and Forbes Advisor advisory board member
Is Going Into The Fall Months OK?
Axios Denver, puts May and June at best months to buy and sell in Denver, “Metro Denver homes listed in late May sold for nearly $17,000 more than during other times of the year, per a new Zillow analysis.”
But the other side of this is, “Buyers, if you want to avoid peak pricing, consider shopping outside of the spring and summer months.”
Also from Axios Denver, “The big picture: The first week of October has historically been a good time to buy a house in the U.S., per a new Realtor.com report.After reaching a peak in spring and summer, demand slows — but inventory levels haven’t yet hit the holiday slump, creating opportunities for buyers.”
