Katchen Company announced it has formed a strategic alliance with Expert Consulting Service, Inc. (ECS) whereby ECS will provide marketing and support administrative services for Katchen Company’s Expert Witness division.
Expert Witness
An Expert Witness is a specialist in a subject who has knowledge not normally possessed by the average person. The law states that for a person to be recognized as an Expert Witness they must possess the education, training or experience in the topic that they are testifying about. While an attorney can be a strong expert witness in some real estate related matters, a practicing real estate professional might be a better choice for matters that relate to operational issues dealing with “Best Practices” and “Standard of Care”. Litigation Support
Litigation support is provided by a Consulting Expert who is in a position to advise and assist the attorney on achieving the best outcome for their client. While the qualifications to be an Expert Witness and Consulting Expert are identical, the Consulting Expert can be more subjective in their determinations; however, if an attorney retains a Consulting Expert to assist with a case the Consulting Expert may not latter be used as an Expert Witness to testify in court on that case. A consulting expert can assist counsel from the beginning of the dispute with case assessment to determine if there is sufficient cause to justify the case. The Consulting Expert can also work throughout the case to assist in identifying documents to request in discovery and assisting in formulating questions for the interrogatories and depositions.

Katchen Company Conducts Property Tax Lien Class
Katchen Company conducted a property tax lien class today for its clients that are interested in participating in the Denver County tax lien auction being held November 4, 2011. Edward Boyle, CEO of Katchen Company stated, “The class gave our client’s hands-on experience researching properties prior to bidding on them during the auction”. The Denver County tax lien auction is held annually to collect property taxes owed by auctioning off liens on delinquent properties to investor who receive higher than market interest on those liens until they are paid off.
